This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a SPED teacher and Coach at a Title I school, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, they come to school each and every day to succeed in the classroom and in the sport of wrestling.
To eliminate the challenge of having to pay for equipment our school tries to provide every student with a Team backpack to carry their gear in for away duels and tournaments for the sport of wrestling.
By providing each child a team backpack, helps them to keep all their gear together while helping them to learn responsibility and pride.
My Project
The red High Serra Team backpacks will be used to keep their team gear in for away tournaments and duel meets. This teaches our student-athletes to be responsible for their gear along with helping them to take pride in being apart of a team.
It also helps in organizing the team when we the coaching staff at Taft are checking out team uniforms to the students and helps to teach the expectation of responsibility and organizing their bags.
It also gives our student-athletes a since of ownership and team unity. It also is easier when they turn in their gear for the coaching staff to take inventory.
