This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a second-year teacher coach coaching at a Title I middle school. Our school has some of the most amazing groups of student athletes. These student athletes have a drive to work hard even when most have not in the financial position to play organized sports, let alone acquire the proper equipment on their own. Last year, with my little experience, I did not know the equipment the school was lacking for the team. The girls had to overcome so many adversities last year and equipment shouldn’t have been one. When the season started the student athletes came together asking family members, older brothers, and neighbors for any equipment the team could borrow for our short season. Watching them come together to share equipment without a complaint and seeing their love for one another was an amazing experience. This year I want to start early and help this year’s girls’ soccer team and future teams to receive the equipment I know they deserve. Any donations would be so helpful and really appreciated not only by me but by many amazing student athletes. Thank you!

My Project

This year the PA girls soccer team are ready to play/work hard. They have everything they need to be successful except the essential equipment. Last year they had the heart, desire, and hard work needed to be very successful but were lacking some things that could help. This year I want to make sure all of my student have the proper cleats and shin guards needed to play. They deserve to be able to try out for a team knowing there willingness to play is all that they need. Most of my student athletes come from low income homes and this will be a relief for all of them.
