Help Ms. Padder

My Students

Help my students create their very own countries! In order to properly present and display these projects, my students will need art supplies (posterboard, paper, markers) which my school cannot easily provide for them.

Imagine going to school on an empty stomach, unable to afford purchasing even the writing utensils, notebooks and binders that are necessary in the classroom.

Please keep this a figment of my students' imaginations and help fund a welcoming, efficient classroom for them. My students are on a mission to prove to their families and communities that they CAN graduate high school. These are kids who have returned to high school after dropping out or having been kicked out for a variety of reasons. Your help will fuel the fire they have re-sparked themselves. My students are ones who have persevered through hardships and despite the obstacles they have faced, have made the decision to return to school. I will be teaching a class of 8th graders as well as two mixed high-school classes at a school which provides free or reduced lunches to almost all of its students.

My Project

My school is unable to provide us with more than one box of copy paper, of which mine is rapidly dwindling. Without paper, I cannot make the copies my studies need each day for their handouts and homework. This simple item is perhaps the most important in the classroom! As a new teacher, I have a vision that my students will be given what they deserve and will achieve beyond what they may initially expect. By providing them with basics such as paper, we all become one day closer to this goal. My current unit is for my middle schoolers to create their very own countries. I want my students to be able to proudly present their country's constitution, flag, culture system, anthem, and maps using the posterboard, paper, and art materials this project will provide for them!

I have a vision that my students will be given what they deserve and will achieve beyond what they may initially expect.

By providing them with basics such as paper, we all become one day closer to this goal. My students should not be limited in expressing their ideas and academic success because of inaccessibility to paper and art materials.
