My Project

Last year Donorschoose funded owl pellets for my fifth graders. I noticed students showed a lot of interest to learn what animals ate to get energy and how the energy was transferred through this activity.

I strongly believe students learn better and retain subject matter well if they use hands on activities.

Dissection of pellets is the perfect example.

This experiment makes our Special needs students to engage easily and make the lesson very interesting.

They Dissected Clams to learn its anatomy. Now, Owl Pellet dissection gives them deeper understanding of food chains and energy flow.
