My Project
Our students largely come from low income families and often have limited exposure to educational opportunities outside of school. Their enthusiasm at hands on experiments in the classroom is one of the cornerstones to their learning.
The owl pellet dissection gives them a comprehensive and hands on experience to one of the predator/prey life cycles, not to mention the opportunity to reconstruct the skeleton of a rodent!
Additionally, high quality art supplies are an absolute dream come true for them ~ they remind me of kids in a candy store when they get to work with them!
