My Project

Aloha! We hope to develop our students social emotional skills embedded within engineering and design challenges and health and wellness lessons! COVID has isolated our students for years and now it is time for them to relearn how to work together, be united through challenges, and gain positive perspectives about themselves.

Thus, through your potential generosity, we are planning teach social emotional learning through engineering design challenges and health and wellness activities!

We plan to have a wa'a canoe engineering design challenge where students will relearn how to work together and construct their very own mini wa'a to sail and connect with their Hawaiian culture! As for health and wellness, we plan on students learning how to be self-confident and comfortable in seeing themselves and others move, dance, perform, and being fit using magnetic mirrors that we can put on and take off our magnetic white board! Through these cooperative lessons and wellness activities, we hope to promote a sense of belonging and build a sense of confidence.
