My Students

On our school swim and water polo teams, our goal is to develop resilient scholar-athletes. Our inner-city students are very diverse, ranging from Latino, Asian, and African American backgrounds. They include immigrants and English Learners, as well as high-performing Gifted and Talented students. Most are from low-income families. They balance the challenges of college-prep classes with the battles of high school athletics.

My students are talented athletes, but at a Title I school, sometimes it's difficult to provide the gear necessary to compete on a level playing field.

My students have come from all around the world, from many different and often difficult situations. They hold the American Dream but need the tools to make them successful.

My Project

Our boy's water polo team needs new swimsuits and caps for the season. The school's athletic budget is very small, so it is necessary that we supplement it through fundraising efforts. Last year, many students couldn't afford their own gear and relied on donations.

This year, we have many new student-athletes on the team and they need help in order to afford their uniforms.

I have chosen strong Speedo polyester suits and caps that will withstand the competitive water polo games. Help us provide these essentials for our student-athletes. It will make a world of difference for them in the pool. Thanks in advance!
