Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are fortunate enough to be able to play and explore outdoors in the school's garden. Students love spending time in the garden as there are different areas students can play at such as in the sand box, outdoor kitchen, water table, etc. We have a few toys out, but being able to switch them out will make garden time more enjoyable.

Playing outdoors in the garden allows for a calming environment in nature allowing for creativity and imagination.

Students have a blast using dirt and sand to make dishes in the outdoor kitchen, as well as making castles and structures in the sandbox. Being able to provide a few new items such as play food, a play tent with campfire, water toys, etc. into this space will bring a smile to their faces and increase love to being out door in the garden. This being my first year teaching, I want to make this first year experience for the students enjoyable and memorable as it is hard to obtain school material.
