My students need sensory tables, materials to add to the sensory table, and lids to cover the tables so that we can store them outside on our covered patio area.

My Students
The children in my classroom include 17 little people that are friendly and lovable. They love to work together at work time making motorcycles, houses, buses, and to build with the waffle blocks. They love to take care of their babies; they feed and bathe them in the house area. They enjoy role playing through imitating The Three Little Pigs as they use different materials for the three types of homes. They like to play in the sand and water table.
We have plenty of materials for the classroom, but we are looking to enhance our outdoor area so that we can give the children interesting experiences while outdoors.
Some of the children in our program do not have access to outside playtime due to their home environment and Head Start provides them with opportunities to enjoy play outdoors. When they play outdoors they are able to experience nature and strengthen their fine/gross motor skills.
My Project
We are looking to enhance our outdoor play space with sensory tables. We want to provide the children with rich and meaningful experiences while outdoors. The children enjoy engaging in pretend play and the materials will give them many exploration opportunities. They will strengthen their problem solving, fine-motor, and cooperative play skills as they manipulate the materials.
The children will also build science related skills such as: observation, classification, experimentation, prediction, drawing conclusions, and communicating idea as they play with the materials in the sensory tables.
The teachers will be able to extend the children's play to outdoors with the help of this project!
