My Project

During arrival and dismissal, the RISE special education classrooms and the Pre-K share two benches outside. For safety, we need our scholars to sit until it is time to go in or go home, depending on the time of day. Our students now sit on the ground or stand because of the lack of seating, which is a safety concern. These new benches will allow the classes to separate, and the students will learn to sit and watch for their rides. During the school day, these benches can be used as a break area to assist different grade-level students in social and emotional learning. If students need breaks, their mentors can take them outside to talk to them one-on-one about their concerns.
