My Students

Bright, excited, and very tech-savvy - this is how I would describe my Project Lead the Way students this year! They are an awesome bunch; ready to take on all the exciting challenges of our Project Based Learning STEAM & Gifted middle school.

Our school serves students in grades 6-8; we strive to instill respect, empathy, ambition, and leadership in all of our students on a daily basis.

Approximately 90% of our students participate in the free/reduced-price lunch program and, outside of my classroom, may not have the resources or opportunity to be a part of art, robotics, engineering, and collaborative activities.

My Project

The global pandemic has impacted our children in many ways, one of them is the ability to connect with others in person. I need more engaging materials for my students to give them opportunities to get them outside, breath fresh air, and talk/play with each other. Games such as Jenga, Connect Four, checkers, and chess allow kids to connect with their peers and participate in friendly competition in a stress-free environment.

I have a beautifully remodeled patio connected to my classroom and would love to have materials that allow my students to be kids and play in-person (not digital) games with each other!

In addition to my traditional students, I also co-teach our alternate curriculum students and these games are perfect for their communication and socialization goals.
