This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My little learners are so eager to be at school each and every day. Our favorite things in the classroom are music that gets our body moving and hands-on learning. These aspects of our daily activities engage their little feet, hands, and huge imaginations!

As special education students with varying disabilities, it is always exciting to see a different way in which my students interact with resources around them.

Most of them can be sensitive to sensory activities so having the flexibility of different materials in the classroom gives each student an opportunity to delve into their creative and artistic little minds.

My Project

My students have a very large area for outdoor play that they share with our kindergarten friends. Unfortunately, sometimes equipment can be a little too large for them to access appropriately. They could benefit from having outdoor equipment that is just the right size for them.

Active physical play promotes social skills, turn taking, and encourages gross locomotor movement.

We are requesting materials such as scooter boards, adjustable hula hoops, balls, soccer nets, adjustable hop scotch, and balancing toys. These materials would allow our kiddos the opportunity to interact with different outdoor equipment than what is already provided at our school.
