This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My Kindergarten students love Science and love to explore the great outdoors! They are hard-working students who are eager to learn. Hands-on learning, especially for the English Language Learners in my classroom, is the most effective strategy for my students to learn and succeed.

I teach in a diverse, high poverty school with wonderful, high achieving students.

My students face many challenges but they work hard to master standards. They love to learn! Science is a favorite subject in my room. I try to provide as many hands-on activities in this area to continue to engage my students and motivate them to learn.

My Project

The ecoSTEM polliNation kit I am requesting will allow my students to explore birds, bees, butterflies, and beetles in their natural habitats. They will explore the outdoors and look for pollinators and develop a plan to protect these animal populations. They will learn about habitats and how our food supply is effected by pollination. Students will be able to plant seeds, build a raised flower bed, and even create a Monarch butterfly habitat! They will also be able to plant seeds at home. Students will observe the cycle from caterpillar to butterfly. The learning possibilities are endless!

Engaging students in STEM activities is crucial, especially for girls.

We need to expose students to science through hands-on activities. Your donation to this project will allow students to learn Science standards, explore the outdoors and participate in a project they will remember forever! By helping fund this project, you are planting seeds that will allow my students to grow into future scientists!
