My Students

I teach in a large, suburban, public school district located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. I work in a school with a diverse population which makes teaching fun and exciting. Each day my students come into the classroom ready to create their own original music. My students have built an exceptional collection of music, and they take pride in creating music. Their success is my success.

My students are amazing at creating unique music!

I love their vibrant energy, smiles on their faces, and their willingness to learn and to never give up! We are creating an environment where it's okay to make a mistake. This is a classroom that sets high expectations and never gives up on the students!

My Project

My students need a Warm Audio Optical Compressor so that they can have the feel of touching a real compressor and not just using virtual versions on the computer.

Having the tactile feel of using a real piece of audio gear will help them understand how to use the equipment in a real setting.

Also, this will help the students understand signal flow in the studio. Having to create an audio signal and understand how it flows through the studio and where to plug different pieces of outboard gear into the signal flow will be increased by having real pieces of gear.
