My Project

Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating. Comfortable students who feel safe and supported produce the best outcomes.

My students are able to better focus, participate, and engage when they are able to choose seating that meets their needs.

I utilize wobble stools in my classroom. These are extremely beneficial for some students who just need to get the wiggles out. However, some students struggle with the wobble stools. The products I have selected will help give my students a more traditional seating option that they may feel more comfortable with. The student chairs, I currently have in my classroom, are approximately thirty years old if not older. My husband has welded them back together over the years. I have put tennis balls on the feet to keep them from scratching my floor.

My goal is to replace a portion of these chairs a little at a time.
