My Students

Imagine only being able to share your ideas by using pencil and paper in the same spot. These are the issues facing our classroom. We have an Activboard, but we can only use it from the front of the classroom. Also, the only way we can share our ideas and answers is to put them on paper.

My class of 23 students are interested learners.

They are all different types of learners and seek out distinct ways of showing what they have learned. They are creative and need to be challenged. I want to expose them to technology and how it can be used when they are learning.

My Project

It is important in a classroom to find innovative ways to engage your students. The students love to write on the whiteboard, but they do not always get the opportunity to do it. If they are able to each have their own whiteboard, they would enjoy writing their answers down and sharing them. It would be something different from using the normal pencil and paper method that they are used to. We can use the whiteboards to practice our cursive writing or to calculate a word problem in math. A Promethean Activslate would make it possible for me to circulate around the room while using our Activboard. I would not be stuck in front of the classroom when I need to write on the board. The Activslate would allow me to have mobility and write from anywhere in the room. Also, it would allow the students to share their ideas from their desk.

Also, I will be able to keep them connected to the lessons with the Activslate because I won't have to walk all the way to the front of the room to write on the board. Also, they would be able to write on the board from their desk to share a new idea or answer a problem.
