Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students spend some of the coldest and darkest months of the year learning about what's beyond our planet Earth - outer space! Our Sun, Moon, and Stars unit engages students through non-fiction books about patterns of day and night. Next, they explore narrative tales of these celestial bodies through stories of the moon across various cultures. They end the unit by writing their own narrative (in English and Spanish!) about day and night.

To make this expedition even more engaging, students use a curated play time to imagine themselves as space explorers, artists, engineers, and more.

Educational toys and games create a comprehensive experience for students to push the boundaries of their imagination!
