Once upon a time there was a middle school in Queens, filled with aspiring actors, singers and dancers. All that was keeping them from their “Happily-Ever-After” was a few costumes and props needed to complete their vision. That’s where YOU come into the story. Help us bring our fairytale fantasies to life!
“Out of the Woods” is the story of a group of fairytale characters Jack (of the Beanstalk), Lil’Red (Riding Hood), Big Brother Pig, The Big “Brad” Wolf, Gingie (The Gingerbread Man), and Superman visiting from Metropolis, on a journey to bring Fairy Godmother home of Fairytale-Crossing.
In the Village of Fairytale-Crossing, Fairy-Godmother does all the magical heavy lifting for everyone. She is the magic glue that holds their stories together. Exhausted and overwhelmed, F.G goes on a girls’ weekend to Miami without telling anyone in the Village. Amid the chaos, characters from different stories team up to search for her. When Big Brother Pig enters with a clue - an airplane boarding pass with the destination missing, they start on an adventure through 8 iconic fairytales on their search for their missing mentor. Along the way they learn valuable lessons about independence, teamwork, and problem-solving, while restoring the magical balance in Fairytale-Crossing.
Our students have created a fun and engaging story with catchy songs and favorite fairytale characters. In order to create a spectacular and inclusive experience for everyone, we are crafting unique costumes, props, and sets for all of our students in each musical number. Help us bring our show to life, from Gingie’s candy buttons to the Three Billy Goats’ beards, to Rapunzel’s signature braid. We need your help to find F.G. and bring her back to Fairytale-Crossing to restore the magic. With your help, our characters can finally reach their “Happily Ever After”!
