My Project

Our after-school Yarn Club students have been making decorations, finger-knitted flower surprises for family members, and stylish clothing items and accessories such as crocheted handbags and leg-warmers. We have been so appreciative of donor support for our previous DonorsChoose projects that have provided the club with a variety of colorful, multi-textured yarn.

Our club members are ready to "flex their creative muscles" with new yarn projects!

In September, we will be entering the fourth year of our club, and our participants are ready to take on additional and exciting projects. We would like to expand the club activities to include embroidery, cross stitch, and other sewing endeavors. This project will fund embroidery hoops, embroidery thread, a project reference book, and sewing stencils.

We have had about 10 second-grade students show an interest in joining the club, and we believe that embroidery projects will be more accessible to our younger students than some of the more advanced knitting and crochet activities.
