My Students
Our NYC public school serves a wide range of students in grades K-5. We offer students rigorous academics, have dedicated teachers and a safe learning environment. Our students are enthusiastic learners with wide ranging interests and abilities that come from many different backgrounds.
My goal is to provide students with a variety of learning opportunities that meet their diverse needs and lead to academic success.
The first graders in my class are eager to be challenged every day and my challenge is to accomplish that by providing the environment, resources, and materials that will give them the support they need to realize their potential.
My Project
My first graders take writing very seriously. We have a laser printer, but have run out of ink to print out and add colorful real photos and clip art from the Internet to their writing projects, make copies of their completed books to share with others, and print out information for research.
My first graders take a great deal of pride in becoming published authors and making their books look like the books they are reading which motivates them to write even more.
With ink for our printer, students can make their writing come to life. They will be able to print out and add colorful pictures, charts, and maps to their research projects, which will provide our learners, regardless of ability, a tool that will help them create writing they are proud of.
