Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Each year I have been blessed to coach a great group of student athletes. They are a hard-working group of high school students who strive each day to be the best they can be on and off the cheer mat. Having a team warm up and backpacks shows uniformity. When walking into a games and cheer Competitions, the team stands out among the crowd. It makes us unique. My goal is to be able to use these warmups and backpacks for a few years, which will greatly reduce the cost for our families. What I love about my students is that they are determined and hard working. These warmups will be a part of their uniforms. The cost of uniforms at our school goes beyond what our current budget can cover, but we are determined to find a way. Uniformity is an important part of being on a team. Our students deserve to have nice uniforms. Being a student athlete allows these scholars to gain valuable leadership skills that they can use in the classroom and the real world. They learn about working together, overcoming obstacles, and what it means to be a part of a team. I want to make sure they show up looking and feeling like a team while wearing weather appropriate attire. This will give my team the confidence they need to show up in any space and be their best selves.
