Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Despite being a low-economic status high school in Colorado Springs, out of 56 high schools in the city, our students are aware of the better resources the other schools receive and understand the politics of it all. With that being said, our students rock with the limited resources and never let that deter them from reaching their goals. No excuses and be the best you is our class motto. "Resilience is US". They work very hard to succeed. The end.
My Project
Teaching civic knowledge and attitudes for understanding is very essential and vital for a more productive, thoughtful, respectful, caring and understanding society. "We The People: The Citizens & The Constitution" is a textbook that will guide our students in understanding our government more efficiently. This upcoming school year our students will compete on the National We The People competition. Center for Civic Education hosts this annual competition for middle and high school students. I want our students to be the first in our district, or even city to initiate or compete in this national competition, hopefully.
