Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In my preschool for all learners class, we work with three to five-year-old children of varying ability levels with IEPs. During our daily routines, we have teacher-led group activities and child-directed free choice play experiences that are individualized to each student’s abilities and needs.

My students come from low-income households and a variety of backgrounds and cultures.

My students love hands-on material and visuals that inspire learning and curiosity. They are very creative, fun-loving, and enthusiastic learners. Unfortunately, sometimes it is difficult to provide them with all the help and material they need because of a lack of resources at home and in the classroom. In March of 2020, our district went to distance learning, and students and their families struggled to maintain their learning environment without the proper resources commonly found in the classroom.

My Project

My preschoolers will begin this new school year at home as we continue distance learning. Unfortunately, my students will not have access to the materials we generally have in our classroom. To ensure that they have the best education possible I would like to provide them with their very own Magnetic ABC and 123 Kits. These kits will enhance my preschoolers' learning experience at home as we deal with these unprecedented times.

The magnetic letter and numbers will help my preschoolers learn about literacy and math for the first time.

They will be able to explore different letters and numbers and they will be able to create their name, words, count numbers, make patterns, sort by color, identify letters and numbers as well as colors, among many other things. The magnetic boards will provide them with the opportunity to draw, write, fill in the missing letters or numbers, make letters, and number sequencing.

These supplies will definitely make learning exciting for my preschoolers. Every child will receive a box that will contain a set of letters and numbers, a magnetic board, an eraser, and some markers. These materials will be distributed to every child at school or it will be mailed out. These supplies are meant to support the students as they are at home and they will be continued to be used once it is safe to return to school. My preschoolers deserve the best distance learning education possible, but unfortunately, many of them do not have the supplies they need to be successful, and that is why we need your help.
