Help me give my students a laminating machine to laminate and present their projects, pencils, a pencil sharpener for everyday use, and Scholastic reading materials to inspire our 3rd graders to read more on various topics.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My third-grade class is very diverse with representation from South America, Africa, United Arab Emirates, Caribbean, and North America. For a few, Valentine's Day will be a new experience and I would like them all to have this opportunity to celebrate.
My Project
"Our Third-Grade Must-Haves" will be used almost every day. Each student uses about 3 pencils each day and our electric pencil sharpener always breaks within one week. Having pencils readily available will help to keep students engaged in their daily morning quick-write.
Reading is the key to success!
Our students have never had the opportunity to read Scholastic magazines. This is a great resource not only to expose them to different styles of academic writing but also to encourage deeper discussions about what is happening in the world around them. As third graders read to learn they will enjoy using magazines that teach them about different topics and current events, on their level.
