My Project
The vast majority of Philadelphia students do not know how to swim, a skill that I consider to be lifesaving. As the varsity swim coach at LHS, we welcome swimmers of all abilities and help them to get stronger, faster and build up their endurance as well as teaching basic skills.
Our athletes come to the school eager to work hard every day and show so much progress in the 3 short days of practice that we can get each week due to limited pool time and sharing our space with parks and recreation and all of the local private schools.
They need goggles to be able to see in the water without burning their eyes and so that water in their face is not a limitation to them building their skills. Goggles cannot be shared between swimmers due to hygiene standards, so we need enough goggles for all of the swimmers on the two high school teams that share the pool as we share our practice time with NHS, our neighboring high school.
