My Students

My class is composed of 20-21 year old students with special needs who are participating in community-based, vocational instruction. These students go out into the community to work at places like Applebee's, Panera, and Stop and Shop.

My students come from families with limited resources.

They need help from the community to provide them with the materials they need to take advantage of this educational opportunity for them. Specifically, they need clothing and safety shoes to work in the community safely and appropriately.

My Project

Our students are going to various work sites and learning about jobs within our community. In order for them to actively participate at these work sites, they have to wear safety shoes to prevent slipping and fallings.

We will use these safety shoes each day we work and it will help my students understand the items they need to be active participates in the work force.

Each student would like to have their own shoes instead of using shoes from last year's class. The shoes we have now are worn out and don't look very good. We could really use some help.
