Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our classroom is limited in the supplies in our art area due to not having any shelving. This shelf is the perfect size and height for our special education preschool students. Art is integral for our young learners and it gives them the opportunity to express themselves and to develop their fine motor skills in a multitude of ways, from holding onto their markers and crayons, to using their fingers and hands to make short and wide brush strokes with hues of paint colors.

In our classroom it is also important to have materials be easily accessible for our students and these paper racks will allow our students to have access to multiple colors of paper to choose from for their work.

We hope that with these two types of shelf’s that we can create a basis for a wonderful art area that can grow and develop based on our student's needs and interests.

Of course with all the wonderful artwork that our students will be creating we would love to provide a drying rack for their art to dry. When our students create their art we understand the importance of their pieces and that with all the care they put into their art we would like to have a safe place to allow it to dry and be maintained and not ruined. A drying rack will allow us to show our students that their art is to be respected and taken care of and after it dries they will be able to see it color our classroom walls for all to see.
