My Students

My students are a wonderful group of bright, hard-working and inquisitive kids who truly enjoy using technology and online resources on a daily basis when we are in our classroom. More careers of the future are going to require them to be savvy with technology and when we are in class, they ask to use the Chromebooks all the time, however, I do not have a class set of them in my classroom. Currently, most of the Chromebooks that were used at our school have been loaned out for students to use at home for remote learning so the need for Chromebooks is even greater now.

Therefore, we need more Chromebooks to prepare for when we are back at school so that each student can use their own Chromebook while in the classroom.

My Project

Students need to have access to technology on a daily basis for research and to use for creating projects to demonstrate their knowledge. With remote learning, about half of our school's Chromebooks have been loaned out to students in our community who need a device to use at home. When we return to in person instruction, it may take time to have all of the school's Chromebooks returned to school, not to mention that some of the Chromebooks may need to be repaired or replaced. Students need a 1:1 ratio of students to Chromebooks in the classroom and our school is still far from reaching this ratio.

Prior to remote learning we did not have a 1:1 ratio of devices to students in the classroom and now that our school supply has dwindled, the need for Chromebooks is greater now more than ever.
