My Project

Our school specializes in students with disabilities in a self contained setting. The class student to staff ratios are 6:1+1, 8:1+1, & 12:1+4. Meaning our students are among the most challenged populations and need multiple supports to engage in self expression. Some communicate verbally while others utilize communication devices AAC, eye gaze or gestures. For example some point to picture symbol boards.

This project aims to empower our students to express themselves in a visual art journal form like a scrapbook or junk journal.

They take pictures and collage magazines, stickers, and stamped hand dyed papers.
