Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My youngest students are 4 years old and my oldest are 15 years old (preK-8th grade). I love the diversity of our school and learning about each and everyone of them and what makes them so special.

All my students are unique and are seen as individuals with their own strength and resources.

I am amazed every time I see how much resilience children have and how much they can achieve when they know that someone believes in them. The sky is the limit for them... and I want to offer them the world.

My Project

Students are suffering more than ever with anxiety depression and other issues that are affecting their personal lives and their ability to learn and to be fully present in school.

"Our Safe Place" will be a beautiful place where all students can come and regroup, talk to a counselor, work on some of their social and emotional skills and boost their confidence so that they may be able to go back to their class, their teachers and their peers and fully participate in all activities offered at the school.

Students will be able to use specific therapeutic games and activities to help them open up more to counselor and achieve change. Mirrors are a great tool to use in therapy to work on their self esteem skills and body image issues that many students struggle with.

Students will be able to use the tee pee tent and soft rug as a safe and comfortable place when needing a break from others.

Research has shown that plants improve mental health, can improve your mood and cognitive skills so I am looking forward to being able to provide an environment with a few plants to help our students achieve their best potential.

We thank you so much for your participation and helping us create this beautiful space for our children. We know that it only takes ONE person that shows that they care for our children to feel loved and supported. I am honored to be the one in the position to help these beautiful souls achieve their best potential.
