My Students
In the community where I teach my students can be easily motivated, very creative, and hard workers. When asked to complete work or explain work, they always surprise me with their very interesting answers. Their neighborhood is a tough neighborhood and they face many challenges on a daily basis.
We were affected by Hurricane Harvey and many families have recovered but other families are still having to rebuild which makes it difficult for them to support the classroom.
However, when they come to school, I make sure they know they are in a safe place and are free to be a child again.
During the school day my students know it is time to rise to their academic goals, support and encourage their peers, and have fun at being better than yesterday. This can be very hard to get most of my students to adapt to, but I stick to this motto from August to May and I never give up!
My Project
Class are you ready for the day? Yes, they will be ready because having supplies at their desk, their assignments printed and ready to go will make the day brighter and better for everyone.
Game day is coming and we are in the third quarter.
Having the pencils, erasers, and ziploc bags will keep my students organized and ready to work. Having copy paper and ink for the printer will help me prepare for lessons and being sure they are printed and copied on time. We were granted an ipad tablet for extra time on the computer. We are having to borrow chargers from other teachers to charge the tablet and having these chargers will allow them to charge at night and be ready for the next day. Having the construction paper will make lesson more creative and give students a chance to show their creativity.
Once the regular day ends, many of my students remain at school and the learning continues. Because they stay so late, having the chips knocks off some of the hunger pains until dinner at 6:00. At the end of the day is when I start to grade papers and make certificates for rewards and celebrations. Having a calculator, pens, and laminating sheets will make this much easier. We are going to be really busy this semester with trying to ensure my students are successful on the state test. These supplies are so important to assisting us in making this year successful and we plan on being very successful.
