Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work as a Pre K teacher for children with special needs. I get to work with 8 amazing little boys who are on the Autism Spectrum. They are 3 and 4 years old and have Developmental Delays and Speech and Language Delays.

Every day they come into the classroom and amaze me at what they can learn and achieve.

They have many challenges they face daily, but they are amazing little boys who I am blessed to work with everyday.

My Project

Having sensory items like a sensory ball set in the classroom will help my students explore different materials which will help them develop their sensory skills. Also having toys in the classroom like puzzles and an alphabet mystery set will help them improve their social and emotional skills.

In the classroom they get to have fun and learn through the different materials we use daily.

Having these items in our room will help them develop the skills they need in the future.

Children with Autism need a lot of structure, routine, and tactile items on a regular basis. I am trying to provide a classroom that will have them engaged in their learning daily.
