My Students

My students thirst for knowledge and wisdom but often lack the resources to quench their thirst.

We are a business-themed public high school located in the heart of Queens, NY, the most culturally and ethnically diverse neighborhood in the world.

The children who enter my classroom come from all over NYC. As such, they carry with them a wealth of knowledge that contributes to a dynamic classroom. However, many of my students also come from economically disadvantaged homes. Therefore, many times, resources, basic supplies, and equipment are scarce.

My Project

Who knew the 2020-2021 academic year would be like this? COVID-19 has shaken our city and has left a deep scar on my students. As such, many students and their families have made the decision to partake in remote learning; however, many have also decided that a hybrid model would be best for them. In order to do so safely, students must be protected. The supplies from this project will go directly into the hands of students, who will use the masks to cover their noses and mouths and wipes to sanitize their hands.
