Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I would like to create a space in my classroom for those little unexpected moments with 1st graders. First, there are moments where students have tummy aches, forgot to eat breakfast, or feel hungry before or after lunch and cannot focus. I am looking to fill the care closet with snacks that include Goldfish crackers, pretzels, fruit snacks, and more. With snacks on hand, I can help those students in need out so they can continue working, and not be worries about their grumbling tummy.

Next, I am looking to get some band aids and min water bottles.

When students get a minor scratch, paper cut, or something simply hurts, a band aid can go a long way to make them feel better and not be distracted from our lesson. Along with that, I am looking to get some hair scrunchies for those moments when they break. Last, I am looking to get some rock hearts. There are moments when students are having a rough day, or feeling down, and would love to give the a simple heart stone to hold and rub away their worries. All of these Items will have a special spot in our classroom to support focus and learning with care!
