My Students

My school is filled with bright children who unfortunately live in low-income households. Outsiders may see them as "at-risk" but I see the potential and future in all of them. Help me level the playing field by proving them with fresh new resources that will allow them to explore, create, innovate, and cultivate a love of learning.

My Project

As an early year's teacher, I make it my mission to introduce literacy in a fun and inviting way. I utilize 21st Century Teaching practices in my daily instruction. I work to create educational experiences that enhance and reinforce concepts that my students may or may not be exposed to while at home. I strive to create a literacy-rich environment in my classroom, one where students can develop a love for reading and literacy. In my classroom, we learn that literacy is everywhere. It is not limited to storybooks and academic settings, but it can be found in the world around us. Strong literacy skills build the foundation for academic and social success.

Although I teach younger children, the era in which I teach is ever-evolving. My teaching practices, material, and techniques should evolve with the times.
