Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love that I have such a wonderfully diverse class. Although most of the students are Latino, they come from many different countries, such as Colombia, Venezuela, Honduras, Mexico, Dominican Republic, El Salvador and Chile. Each student brings in a rich culture that is similar and different to others.

I plan to use the Culturally Responsive Sustaining Education library in my classroom by implementing the books into our current curriculum.

For example, if the lesson objective is to identify character traits, I will use one of the books. These books will also help the bilingual students identify themselves within the stories.

We can't wait to read these wonderfully diverse books!
