Our Kindergarten Classroom Needs Just a Few Pieces of Furniture
Help me give my students new and clean furniture to sit on and store toys. We need a clean rug to join together in front of the calendar and a table and chairs for our classroom library.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have a classroom of 24 adorable Kindergarteners. I just started teaching at my current school this year and I inherited an old rug and some old furniture. Our classroom is small. I would just like to replace a few pieces. We need a new rug for when we gather together on the floor for read-aloud and morning calendar. We actually join on the rug for many lessons daily. Our rug is oversized and takes up too much space in our small room, leaving less space for our tables. It is also stained, despite the good rub-down I gave it prior to Winter Break. I’ll give it another wash before Spring Break, but it would be great to get a new one. We also need a new table and chairs in the library so the kids can sit down and read our library books. I inherited round backless seats that are not comfortable for small 5-year olds. We also need a small white board easel for writing lessons and a small storage organizer for the blocks center.
