Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Imagine hearing a child say, "Can I take an apple home? We don't have a lot of food in my house."

My students are growing up in an unsafe, extremely economically disadvantaged neighborhood.

As Kindergartners, this is the foundation of their experience in school. My students are learning to love school through our exciting hands-on, experience-based classroom. Unfortunately, my school is lacking tremendously in resources and funding, and we were provided with hardly any materials.

My students need the proper materials, resources, and furniture to succeed in school!

My Project

My students and I are moving up from Pre-K to Kindergarten together, and we need new and different supplies! My kindergarten students will be learning to read, and we need to have low-level books packed with sight words in order for them to feel successful in this enormous endeavor. My students will also need to keep track of their work in various folders, and we need to make sure that we have the proper organizational storage to teach them this very important skill. My students will also be building on their previous number sense, and we need different tools such as ten-frames and place value charts to help strengthen their understanding.

My kindergarten students deserve to have all of the books and supplies that they need to have a successful school year!
