My Project

We have a gap in our wonderful library - beginning chapter books! These are books that appeal primarily to K, 1st, and 2nd graders who have "cracked the code" of reading but aren't ready for novels yet. Our amazing administration and PTA offer a library budget every year but that money covers our "necessities" - books that directly support the curriculum, major award winners, etc.

Our students crave popular series!

They want silly, scary, outlandish books that feature unicorns, ghosts, detectives, and animal heroes! Series are particularly important for early chapter readers because once a child has found a book they like, they voraciously want to read more just like it! For this reason, if you can only afford to buy a few books, please consider buying them from the same series so that we can start offering more popular series to our younger students. Thank you for helping us to create a culture of reading!
