Our Goal is Success in more than Soccer!

My students need the ability to train using small portable goals as part of the strategy to use small sided games to increase participation and ball touches for all.

My Students

Allow me to introduce my team of soccer girls. This group of girls are some of the most coachable kids that a soccer coach would want to be associated with! They are a continuation of a proud heritage of teams that have enjoyed success over the past twenty years.

This community located in a rural area has been affected by changes in demographics like many other areas that has seen enrollment decrease.

Despite this reduction, our school has remained competitive and many of these girls play not only soccer but are honor roll students in addition to participating in winter and spring sports.

My Project

The ability to create effective training sessions for 20 plus girls on a soccer field requires the use of small sided games. To create situations where the training is game like involves the use of small goals which this team does not currently own. These goals will allow these girls to continue their success and be used for many years by subsequent teams.

The previous coach who was in charge of this program used these Pugg goals very effectively and the team succeeded due to this coaching philosophy and it is my intention to carry on this strategy.

Unfortunately, the coach owned these goals and took them with him when he left the program. As a second year varsity coach, the girls are excited about the upcoming season which is still months away but preparation makes all the difference.
