My Students

Do you remember sitting on those cold, hardwood floors to gather together as a class to meet with the teacher, play games, and have meet at the end of the day to discuss the learning for the day? This would make it a more exciting place to meet to do all these wonderful things.

I have a class of 22 out-going, enthusiastic hard-working young students who love to learn and are eager to participate in a variety of ways.They love challenge, enjoy working together, encourage each other, and are very helpful.

They are from many different nationalities from around the world. They speak in different languages We are a high poverty school and are eager to learn from day to day. My students love to be together when they discover and learn, they need a place to comfortably come together and work with each other on many things. They love school, they need friends ad they want to please their teacher,. My school is very big yet we still maintain a "homey" and inviting atmosphere.

My Project

This classroom resource that I am looking for is very simple. A large, comfortable carpet that will give my students a place to come together. They need a comfortable and encouraging space to read and write. From the beginning of the day with our morning meeting to the laying on our tummies quietly reading our books as part of our reading curriculum to Our Daily 5 cafe. This carpet will provide such a place. It will be the colorful focal point of the classroom that makes it an inviting place to enter and spend the day. They will feel proud to be a part of what is going on in eir classroom and this can't help but have a positive impact on their achievement.

My students need a large carpet that they can use as a comfortable meeting place for learning.

I've worked very hard to make my classroom a more and inviting and positive environment for learning. However our classroom has hard and cold floors. A large, and cozy rug will enhance learning by offering a place for students to sit and work individually and in groups. The addition of a colorful carpet to our classroom will have a positive impact on my students. It will give them a place to feel relaxed.
