This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Kindergarten students are at a critical stage in their development where hands-on, interactive learning experiences are essential. Garden supplies, such as seeds, soil, planters, and tools, will allow these young learners to explore the world of nature in a meaningful way. Gardening is an activity that engages all their senses and encourages curiosity, problem-solving, and responsibility.

The garden supplies we are requesting will allow students to:

Engage in sensory exploration: Gardening gives young children the opportunity to touch, smell, and see the growth of plants, which enhances their sensory development.

Understand nature: By planting seeds and watching them grow, students will learn about plant life cycles, the importance of water and sunlight, and how plants depend on the environment to thrive.

Develop motor skills: Handling gardening tools, digging, and planting will help improve their fine and gross motor skills.

Foster responsibility: Caring for plants will teach them about nurturing and being responsible for living things, helping them build empathy and a sense of accomplishment.
