My Project

We have been in school for almost one month and already, the appetites are storming through the building. This year, I am working with students in grades K-2 for small group reading instruction while also working as a special education teacher.

It's that time of the year again for a snack haul.

Honestly, every time is a good time for snacks for my students. We have been fortunate to have all of our snack projects funded quickly, and hopefully, this project will be no different.

Included in this project are gummy bars, popcorn, Jolly Ranchers, juice, and cereal, as well as additional student favorites, to get us through the first semester of the school year. These will be used for students who arrive late after missing breakfast, students who may be hungry during the day, and students who may be waiting to go home after school. I am already thinking of math activities that could be used with the Cheez-Its. It's the perfect way to mix learning with snack time! Additionally, having snack time is a nice way to reset from the learning day, providing additional energy needed to sustain the schooldays.

I added a collapsible wagon to transfer the snacks from the front office to our classroom. That way, we can minimize trips in the event of an elevator malfunction!
