Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school budget does not allocate enough funds beyond "core curriculum" materials. These additional materials will allow our students to go beyond asking relevant questions as hypothetical. These materials will enable them to design their procedures and even carry out the meaningful investigations they construct through diverse and authentic inquiry.

Our students are beginning to see the value of science as a way of thinking rather than a body of knowledge.

With these materials, their problem-solving and questioning skills will undoubtedly improve, providing them with the necessary tools to be critical of observable phenomena and furthering their understanding of the natural world and beyond.

The two most expensive items are explained below. The CD cases will be used during a Newtonian motion unit in which students will be able to use everyday household items to measure the amount of force reduced. The MRE heaters will be used during a chemical reactions unit, where the class will explore a flameless heating system.
