My Students

Open front desks....oh my, what a mess. My students have so many books, folders, journals and works in progress that they have a hard time finding what they need and keeping all of their supplies in their desks.

I work in a title one school, and I serve general education, special education and ESL students in one inclusive classroom.

We have an interesting blend of students from different backgrounds and they all come into my room with very different needs. My students love learning, love school and I feel very blessed to spend my days with them!

My Project

My students all come from different types of homes, different types of families, and have different learning styles. Because of these differences, one project, or book does not meet all of our needs. I work hard to make sure my students each get what they need to succeed and that usually means that everyone is working on something different. With all the different things going on in our classroom things can get MESSY! Our desks are honestly OVERFLOWING with materials. We have desks that open in the front and easily spill onto the floor. Having an extra pocket on our chairs to hold a textbook or two or our journals would greatly improve this problem in our room. I believe that having another space to keep materials would greatly improve my students ability to organize and help to optimize learning by cutting down on the time it takes to find materials. I believe that this in turn would help my students in all subject areas.

I believe an organized classroom is essential to optimal learning.

Students who can easily access their supplies will spend less time looking for materials and more time DOING their work. Please consider helping my students organize our environment!
