Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have been desperate for a new classroom rug for years. I have provided a rug for my students that is cheap and quite frankly falling apart. I believe that a classroom rug is the focal point of the room. It's the place where we gather every day. We learn here, laugh here, cry here and make memories. The focus of my classroom is collaborative discussion to foster student ownership over their learning. A high quality classroom rugs helps us do this. I am also requesting another book shelf to host math materials. At this time, as a teacher I have to distribute materials to students as I have nowhere to store them in the classroom. With this shelf of classroom manipulatives, it gives my students the ability to access what they need independently. This is important for students to start to build that independence early on so they can advocate for what they need. Please help make my classroom more accessible to my students.
