This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students attend the largest elementary school in NYC. The students are predominantly English Language Learners coming from families who are working hard to provide them with basic needs and support their learning without knowing the English language.
Please help over 500 students develop an understanding of the USA and the entire world with these hands-on materials!
This year I will be teaching Social Studies and Civics to over 500 students - teaching them all about the USA and the world. These write-on/wipe-off maps will help give them the opportunity to explore our country, continents, oceans and more—with full-color USA and world maps they can write on! The globes will give them a better understanding of how our world actually looks.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
