My Students

Getting students hooked and engaged in school is a battle that every teacher faces. But, technology is one tool that always gets students engaged in learning. Recently, our beloved class computer, "Mac", was broken in duty. Your generous donation can help us fund another.

Special needs students are a notoriously under-served population.

I have first-hand knowledge of this from growing up with a younger brother with Down Syndrome. Many of my students are also English language learners from impoverished backgrounds. To give my kids their best chance for success, my lessons are extremely tech-heavy to best address my students' very specialized needs. I incorporate lovingly designed Prezis, Keynotes and Nearpods chock full of engaging and clarifying visuals. I present short, high-interest video clips that stimulate critical thinking and discussion. I even have before and after-school office hours where students can use the computer to design their own Keynote or Prezi presentation.

My Project

Unfortunately, our classroom has been stifled without the use of Mac. I use my own personal funds to pay for our classroom supplies, including our first class computer, Mac. A new class computer will vastly improve lessons for my students. It will support their success in the classroom and ultimately the real world.
