My Project

The calming corner is a classroom basic for every classroom. Just like pencils, paper and crayons are essential for the classroom; two small area rugs will create a place in my classroom where students can learn social emotional skills, while learning how to become a classroom family and support each other. This calming corner will help create a caring classroom community.

I want to give my students a classroom basic: a safe, calm place to develop and practice strategies to work through and process emotions that will last a life time.

In the calming corner, students will learn important skills for today and tomorrow. They will be able to use different tools for calming down and a positive mental attitude which is a basic for learning. I am also requesting individual Kleenex packets to place in the calming corner in case students need.
