This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a first-grade class of energetic and enthusiastic students in the Bronx. We are a diverse class who are eager to learn. My students are so excited to come to school each day and enjoy spending time in the classroom. They love to learn new things every day! Our school is an amazing school with amazing students and staff. However, we are a new school and are extremely limited when it comes to resources.

This is why I need book baskets for my classroom library!

My school isn't able to provide extra materials or supplies to our classrooms. Please help me provide my classroom with a home for the books in our classroom library and help me make my library even more welcoming for my new in-person students!

My Project

I'm so excited to have a more "normal" school year this year! As I prepare my classroom environment for September, I want my room to be as inviting and engaging as possible for my students! It also needs to be functional to be successful. Please help me add these book baskets to my classroom library. Especially in times like this, students need to book shop while keeping their distance. These baskets will let me give each student their own basket to shop from. This will definitely help make book shopping and choosing their own books independently more engaging and effective!
